Weekly Board Meetings Held in Response to Coronavirus

The Yucaipa Valley Water District operates critical water and sewer infrastructure as defined by the Department of Homeland Security and employs Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers that are needed to protect the public health, safety and, economic security of our community.

On March 24, 2020, the Board of Directors of the Yucaipa Valley Water District took decisive action to increase public information, dialogue, and decision-making capabilities.  The best way to make sure the District is prepared to quickly respond to changing situations is to conduct weekly board meetings.  This will enable the Board of Directors to quickly adjust our plans to ensure drinking water and sewer services remain operational during the current Coronavirus pandemic.

Yucaipa Valley Water District Resolution No. 2020-16 set forth weekly teleconferenced board meetings that allow the public to listen to the latest information regarding drinking water and sewer issues in the Yucaipa and Calimesa area.  Weekly meetings also provide the District staff with the ability to communicate important aspects of the District’s emergency response and related operational continuity issues to the Board of Directors and the public.
